  1. I took this class because I am interested in Mythology and I would like to study it with a class and a knowledgable teacher. I think it will be interesting, not to mention I needed another elective. I expect you to teach mythology in a way that allows us students to understand and appreciate it. I would like to have opportunities to discuss some of the literature we read and I would hope that we learn a wide variety of mythology and learn how it applies to our society and culture. I want to learn and I hope the other students have an interest in the subject as well. Mostly I just want to enjoy it, because frankly, it's my senior year and I am tired of taking courses that don't interest me. That's why I took this class.

  2. I took World Mythology because I have always been intrigued by the cultural development of people around the world. I expect you as the teacher to go into depth about the topic and explore the 'why,' not just the 'what.' I also would expect the class to be challenging, but not to the point where it is stressful to learn. For myself and the other students, I would expect us to listen carefully, fully understand what is being taught, and if not, for us to ask questions until we do understand. I also expect for this class to be fun and for the class to enjoy this.

  3. I took this class because I know a lot about Greek mythology, but would like to expand my horizons to the other myths. I also enjoy hearing about how other people explain everything around them metaphorically, because I see that as a type of riddle and I like riddles. My expectations for a teacher are to make class fun and to not drone on and on and on. For me and other students my expectations are to get a good grade in this class and to try to have fun and meet people doing it.

  4. I took this class because I enjoy mythology and want to learn more about other cultures and their mythology. My expectations of the teacher is to expand my knowledge of the world and other cultures through reading, analyzing and discussing world mythology. I also expect them to give me meaningful assignments that will future my understanding of the material as well as providing the class with clear explanations of the requirements and expectations. The expectations I have of myself are to show up to class fully prepared with completed assignments and an understanding of the reading. I also expect myself to be fully prepared to participate in class discussion with not only questions but also personal insight to the topic. I expect the other students to come to class prepared and actively participate in class discussions and activates and not to detract from discussion by not being prepared.

  5. I took this class because mythology is one of mans greated achievments concerning storytelling. And mythology provides an oppertunity to look and wonder beyond the normal spectrum of everyday life and classes. The expectations I have for you as a teacher with this class are simple. One is for you to be able to learn as well as to teach; not putting yourself on an all-knowing pedastal. Also, to describe material in a manner that provides a clear, if not easy, understanding. And leniant disposition really makes class less stressful. And as a student, i expect myself to not take advantage of any leniancy you do have. My expectations of the other students is simply do what you will, but dont bother me while you do it.

  6. I took World Mythology this year because I have always enjoyed listening Greek Myths and I felt I should enhance my knowing of myths. I as a student want you to make the myths we study this year to stick with me. I also would you as a teacher to show me the diffrences between religous myths. My expectations for myself is to go away from this class understanding the myths we study this year and to be able to retell them to the way we learned them

  7. I decided to take this class because mythology has always fascinated me. The only thing I ask of you as a teacher is to make class fun and have us as students interact and be active. My expectation for myself is to expand my knowledge on myths and be able to share what I have learned with others.

  10. I took this class honestly because I like you as a teacher. As a teacher you challenge me and even though this is an elective I would love to be challenged and learn about mythology because I find it intriguing. Another expectation I have is to see this course in a light that I can apply what I learn to everyday things. I also hope that the class is interactive and that you make students participate to get the most out of it. As a student I have the expectation for myself that I will work hard just as it is a core class and take a lot of knowledge and ideas away from it. I hope the others do the same.

  11. I took this class because I love mythology but I only really know Greek myths and would like to learn about other cultures myths as well. As a teacher I expect you to challenge our beliefs and what we know of the ancient world. As for myself I hoping to learn about a whole bunch of different culture and their beliefs, and for my classmates I expect them to treat the class with respect.

My expectations for the teacher is just to push our knowledge to newer horizens and to push us normally everyday in class. As my expectations for myself as a student is just to try my hardest to broaden my knowledge and just to push myself each and everyday of class. For other students i would expect them to respect this class and all the others who are in it and respect that others like me are trying to learn more about something that we like.

  13. I signed up for World Mythology because hearing and reading the myths of ancient Greece is very intriguing to me. I figured the myths from other cultures and places in the world would be just as interesting to know. From a teacher I expect respectfulness and encouraging an open mind from the class. My only thing that I would like every one in the class to be is respectful, respectful of the teacher, themselves, and others.

  14. My reason for takeing this class is to learn more about other ideas, thoughts and views of the world and happenings though other peoples expericences that happened long ago besides my own or what a religion or religions may tell people. Expectations I have for you as a teacher is to treat everyone equally and to get us the information we need to succed in the classroom and out of it. Things I would expect for the other class mates is to fare to everyones thoughts and ideas and to not hold back even if the anwser is right or wrong and i expect the same from my self.

  15. I took this class because i already have learned about the greek myth's but i wanted to see how different cultures use different myths to compare the same thing. I expect that as the teacher you will make this class intresting and fun for us! 16. I took this class because I LOVE Greek mythology! I find it so interesting and fun. I also LOVE imaginary worlds in literature because ANYTHING is possible. My favorite Greek myth is the one that explains why there are seasons, which involves Persephone and her mistake of eating some of Hades’ pomegranate seeds. I think it will be interesting because I would like to see how the other world myths compare to Greek mythology.
I expect you to be nice, funny, understanding and helpful as a teacher. On the other hand(not to be taken literally), I expect myself to do my best and get a good grade. And I think other students and I should try to interpret everything the best they can, and think outside the box.

  17. I took this class because myths and different theologies fascinate me. I had also taken most of the other English classes available to me. I expect you as a teacher to not only tell the myths, but detail the culutres that produced them. I also expect you to engage us without assigning busy work. I expect the other students in the class to respect you and everyone else, even if they don't want to be there. I expect myself to get a high grade, not because I anticipate the class being easy, but because I find the subject really interesting and will be more likely to engage myself.

  18. I took this class because i want to learn more about world mythology because it fascinates me. I expect you to teach me this corse the best you can, and another thing I expect you to do as a teacher is to help make the class fun and enjoyable. One thing I expect from my classmates is for them to be open and have a good conversation where they respect me or the person who is talking. I expect myself to get an A in the class and to be more engaged with what is going on in class

  19. I took this class because i thought it would be amazing to learn about different myths and how people used to think of the world. I hope that as the teacher you would go into why some of the things we learn could be possible and not just be like "Haha people used to think like that. How stupid." i hope that you grade fairly and be understanding when some one gets confused (which you always have been in the past). I personally want to do good in this class and learn about the mythologies.

  20. I took this class because I have always loved history, especially ancient civilizations. Ancient mythology has always been extremely interesting to me and I've wanted to learn about all the different cultures and their mythologies for some time. I took Greek Mythology last year, and I really enjoyed reading about all the different stories.
As a teacher, I expect you to teach us well and make the class something we'll remember, because this is an awesome subject. I hope that I can learn all that I can in this class, and I hope other students will find this subject as interesting as I do.

  21. I took this class since I thought it would be an interesting class. I also like to hear the different cultures myths on how things happen. My expectation for you is to make the class easy to understand. I want to be able to understand the myths that are told and the reason why they believe that. I want you to make the class interesting so that we all enjoy the class. I expect for the other students to be good students and don’t make a joke of the class. Even if they don’t care about the class they should not distract other students who do care. I expect myself to do the same.

  22. I took this class because I am interested in all mythology, so I get the chance to explore the world's mythology instead of just Greek mythology. Expectations I have for you is to teach me the best you can and help me in any way you can. Expectations I have in myself is to try my best and participate. In other students I expect them to be mature, participate, and to have a good time in this class.

  23. I chose to take this class because i would love to explore the depths of ancient literature from around the globe. I would love to use this class to gain insight into the real meaning of mythology and the many workings within it. The teacher of this class should be able to present the material so that all students can comprehend it's meaning and doesn't stray too far from the actual topic. In return, I will be a regular participate in class discussions, and turn my homework and assignments in as they are due. As for the rest of the class I hope that the remainder of the students wish to gain as much or more than I do from this experience.

  24. I took this class because i have always been interested in mythology, but never quite really understood what it was about or why people thought about it so highly. for my expectations of you i just expect for you to explain mythology and to me and get me to like because any good teacher should get their students to like the class they teach, also just to make the class interesting because an interesting class is always fun. For myself i want to learn more about mythology than i already know and to my best to receive an A in the class.
